A Yealink DECT Manager is a device that can have multiple Yealink base stations connected to it.
The DECT Manager allows you to walk freely around a large workspace without losing your call. It does this by automatically connecting your wireless phone to the nearest base station with the best signal as you move, ensuring a seamless connection.
The following is a guide you on how to configure this base station with your Yay account!
1. Go around the site and ensure all the needed base stations are plugged into power and connected to the network
2. If you are using a W80DM with W70B base stations, you can pair the handsets directly to any of the base stations, however on the W90DM with W90B base stations, this will have to be done in a later step
3. Plug in your DECT manager into power and connect it to the network (same network as the base stations)
4. Using an advanced IP scanner, get the local IP address of the DECT Manager and please login to its web interface (username/password should be ‘admin’)
5. On the web interface, head to Base Station>Base Station Settings, and ensure all the base stations that you connected in Step 1 are appearing in this section.
6. Then head to Handset & Account:
6a. In SIP Server Settings, edit server 1 and name it whatever you like (perhaps Yay or your company name), and set the server URL to talk.yay.com, and choose your preferred transport type (we recommend TLS with Server Port 5061).
7. Then head to Handset Registration:
7a. If you are using a W90DM, you will need to manually add each handset by clicking the ‘Add Handset’ button, and filling in its name and IPUI (found on the handset’s status page).
7b. Once you click ‘Start Register Handset’, you will need to try and register the handset to an empty base, and these two should connect and then you can subscribe the handset to the DECT Manager.
7c. You will then need to manually provision each SIP user to all of the connected handsets, including SIP usernames, passwords, and names.
7d. All the handsets should now be registered to the assigned user, and each user on the Yay dashboard should show online (and have the W80/90DM down under the user’s Device Registration)
8. Please test each handset to ensure all can receive and test calls.
