As one of our most popular handset brands, auto-provisioning of Yealink handsets is fully supported and simple to do on Yay.com.
For more information on how to auto-provision hardware for the first time, please take a look at our dedicated FAQ on ‘Auto-Provisioning Hardware’.
The Yay.com auto-provisioning system does not exclusively use the Yealink RPS, but instead uses a hybrid solution of both the Yealink RPS and our own dedicated auto-provisioning server.
When a handset connects to the Yealink RPS for the first time or immediately following a Factory Reset, it will be given a dedicated provisioning URL to contact the Yay.com provisioning server.
Once the handset connects to this second server, all Yay.com device information such as User information, line key configuration, and phone books will be pushed to the phone directly from Yay.com. This allows us to offer closer security and more dynamic functionality with all handsets on our network, without increased reliance or load on a third party service.
Depending on the version of firmware that a device is running, it may not be able to connect to Yay.com until it is upgraded to thelatest version.
As the Yay.com provisioning server is running the latest security standards across its infrastructure, some older firmware versions do not recognise the latest version and will not connect to our provisioning server. Other products in the market may accept less secure firmware, which is why some handsets may have worked fine before moving to Yay.com.
Whilst we recommend always updating to the latest possible firmware version, below is a list of our most common Yealink handset and the known minimum firmware version required for it to auto-provision on Yay.com.

If your handset has been upgraded to the minimum version or higher, and still does not connect to Yay.com, you can try the following:
Ensure that the handsets are correctly connected to the internet and have been able to obtain a local IP address.
Ensure that the handset has been assigned to a User in the Dashboard under Voice > Config > Hardware > Device.
Ensure that the domains ‘voipcp.com’, ‘yay.com’ and ‘yealink.com’ are whitelisted in the firewall configuration for the local network that the handsets sit on.
Perform a Factory Reset of the handset to ensure it reconnects to the RPS correctly. Most models can be reset by holding down the OK button.
If you are still struggling to get the handset to connect, please contact support (help@yay.com) and provide the Public IP address of the network that the handsets will be communicating from so we can run further diagnostics.
