How do I remove soft Keys using the Yealink's web interface?

Sometimes there is a need to remove or restrict certain soft keys on Yealink desk phones (such as the DND (Do Not Disturb) button or the Reject Call button). This is very easy to do through a Yealink handset’s web interface (Web GUI).

1. Accessing the handset’s Web GUI

1.     Make sure your computer is on the same local network as the Yealink handset.

2.     Retrieve the phone’s IPv4 address from the phone’s network settings menu.

a.     This can be done by heading to Menu>Status

3.     In your web browser, enter: https://<PHONE_IPV4_ADDRESS>

a.     Example: https://192.168.1.25

4.     Once loaded, log in with the appropriate admin credentials (default username and password are both admin)

2. Removing or Disabling Soft Keys

1.     Removing the “Reject Call” Button:

a.     In the Web GUI, go to: Settings > Softkey Layout

b.     Toggle Custom SoftKey to ON.

c.    Change the Call State to Incoming Call

d.     In the softkey configuration boxes, move Reject to the Disabled list instead of the Enabled list.

e.     Click Confirm to save your changes.

f.     This removes the Reject button from showing during incoming calls.

You can also configure which soft keys are enabled or disabled for each call scenario, including:

·       Idle screen

·       Dialling

·       Ringing (Incoming Call)

·       Active call

·       Call transfer

·       Call hold, etc.

This allows full customisation of what users can or cannot do during each call state.

2.     Removing the DND Button or Other Programmable Keys:

a.     Go to: DSS Key > Programmable Keys

b.     Locate the soft key you want to change (e.g. Softkey 3 shows DND in this example):

c.     Change the key’s function:

i.     Replace DND with another function, OR

ii.     Set it to N/A to remove the key entirely.

d.     Click Confirm to apply the changes

You can customise any programmable key shown at the bottom of the phone’s display with this method!
